Chronic progressive metabolic problem and chronic hyperglycemia caused by a dysregulation of protein, lipid, carbohydrate metabolism are two symptoms diabetes mellitus, complicated condition. Verapamil belongs to group calcium channel blockers that not dihydropyridines. It works preventing from entering beta cells' cytoplasm, the second phase insulin release driven glucose, as well sulfonylurea glucagon. Nephropathy, neuropathy, retinopathy examples microvascular consequences mellitus (cardiovascular cerebrovascular disease). In both kinds higher urine albumin excretion (proteinuria) or decreased kidney glomerular filtration rate diabetic nephropathy, consequence. By lowering patients' blood sugar levels reducing their risk cardiovascular disease, therapy aims reduce mortality, delay onset disease complications, slow disease's progression. Metformin increases peripheral glucose utilization, liver, muscle, adipose tissue sensitivity insulin, inhibits gluconeogenesis, reduces absorption gastrointestinal system.
